Do you enjoy analyzing processes and finding ways to improve them? Have you wondered what leads to supply chain disruptions like those we’ve seen recently? Are you curious about how products are created and delivered?
The three-year Supply Chain and Operations Management program is designed to help answer these questions while preparing graduates for rewarding careers in a fast-growing, dynamic, and underserved field. You might be asking—what exactly is a supply chain? A supply chain manages the movement of goods, services, and information from suppliers all the way to the end customer.
The supply chain sector plays a critical role in Canada’s economy. It employs roughly 870,000 people, supports an estimated $500 billion in export goods, and is responsible for planning, coordinating, and transporting more than $1 trillion worth of products each year. Projections indicate that over 27,000 supply chain roles remain unfilled, with an additional 66,000 positions expected to open in the coming years.
To bring flexibility and efficiency into today’s complex supply chain environments, organizations need adaptable, collaborative professionals who can make informed decisions and apply new technologies to streamline operations—from product development through final delivery.
This program emphasizes hands-on, project-based learning and offers opportunities to collaborate with real businesses and industry partners. Students take part in engaging projects throughout the program, culminating in two applied capstone courses during the final term. In Applied Capstone: Operational Execution & Decision Making, students gain practical experience using ERP systems, decision-support tools, and integrated analytics. In Applied Capstone: Value Stream Mapping, students work directly with a local industry partner to complete an on-site value stream mapping project for a real organization. Some students even receive employment offers from their industry partners upon graduation.
